CHHOLE BHATURE

Chhole bhature is a popular dish in the Indian subcontinent's northern regions. It's cooked with chana masala (spicy white chickpeas) and bhatura/puri, a maida-based fried bread. Although it is considered a traditional Punjabi dish, there are several accounts as to where it originated.

Chhole bhature is a popular morning meal that is occasionally served with lassi. It can be served as street food or as a whole dinner, with onions, pickled carrots, green chutney, or achaar.

Origin :-
The origin of chhole bhature is a point of disagreement. According to some reports, the meal originated in Delhi, where it is quite popular. Others suggest that the origin is in eastern Uttar Pradesh. It also has another claim to fame as the origin of chhole bhature in Kerala.

Preparation :-
Cooking chickpeas with spices including cumin, coriander seeds, turmeric powder, and chilli powder results in chole. For increased taste, onions, garlic, and ginger are used. Bhature is made by putting flour, salt, and oil in a dough and kneading it. The dough is shaped out into circles and cooked in batches till the bhature puff up.
